University of Tasmania (UTAS) is the 4th oldest university in Australia and ranked number 1 in Australia for teaching excellence. The University of Tasmania is a top choice for students who want to study pharmacy and graduates across the board are earning $3000 more than the national average in their first job after uni, according to the latest Good Universities Guide. UTAS is Australia’s best university for full-time employment and skills development in the pharmacy field of study. Furthermore, The university was also one of eight universities to achieve a five-star social equity rating. UTAS scored close to the national average on students’ overall experience and skills development, above average on teaching quality and below average for students support. The University of Tasmania has continued its sustained climb in high profile international rankings systems in 2016, confirming its place amongst the best universities in the world. In the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the University of Tasmania jumped 13 places to be rated 292nd internationally. Application Process:

UTAS has two main semesters, Semester 1 runs February to June and Semester 2 runs July to November. Applications open in August to commence study in semester 1 the following year. Applications for semester 2 opens in March. In order to be accepted to study at UTAS, you need to meet the course specific prerequisites. UTAS requirement under Streamlined Visa Processing ( SVP)  can be checked from University website.

Working Opportunities in Tasmania

In Tasmania, students are able to find better jobs as compared to the other cities. Average wages vary between $14-30 per hour. There is less competition for jobs during studies.

State Sponsorship

Tasmanian Government sponsors the graduates of University of Tasmania after studies under state sponsorship scheme.
