What is Medical Imaging?

Medical Imaging is all about the use of different technologies, to view the interior of the human body in order to diagnose, monitor and treat medical conditions. Each technology provides different information about the area of the body being diagnosed, related to possible injuries, diseases or progress of medical treatments being taken. It typically involves the use of X-Rays, ultrasound and magnetic resonance to create images for analysis and interpretation. 

Your task as a medical imaging professional will be performing medical imaging on patients, and reporting your diagnosis and interpretation to the doctors. Throughout your career, you will be familiarized with various different technological medical equipment such as MRI machines, CT-Scans, X-Rays and Ultrasound, etc.

One of the interesting aspects of this program is that you will be learning how to use nuclear medicine to assist patients in the eradication of cancerous cells in radiation treatments in addition to learning comforting and counselling patients. 

You will also be given first hand clinical experience through a number of clinical placements at list of hospitals throughout Malaysia.
