What is epidemiology?
Epidemiology is one of the 5 core disciplines of Public Health. This field is the study of why and how often diseases occur in different groups of people. The causes of diseases and other types of serious health problems in the public will be thoroughly studied and researched as the goal is to stop it from spreading.
Then the findings are called epidemiological information and it is used to plan and evaluate strategies to prevent illness. That information as well will be used as a guide to the patients’ management and as a report to officials in the government and to the public.
What do epidemiologists do?
Basically, epidemiologists are scientists who study the spread and control of diseases.
